Aruba Mobility Controllers

High-performance, standalone Mobility Controllers from Aruba deliver a wide range of network services range for small, medium, large network deployments. Aruba controllers perform stateful firewall policy enforcement with Gigabit speeds. Through secure IP tunnels, Aruba access points (APs) and Mobility Access Switches move traffic to the controller over a public or private transport network and provide local bridging at the access layer, depending on the end user application or IT traffic forwarding requirements. Aruba Controllers also manage authentication, encryption, virtual private network (VPN) connections, IPv4 and IPv6 Layer 3 networking, the Aruba Policy Enforcement Firewall (PEF), Aruba Adaptive Radio Management (ARM), and Aruba RFProtect™ Spectrum Analysis and Wireless Intrusion Protection capabilities.
Clustering and centralized management enable the deployment of large networks with hundreds of Mobility Controllers with minimal staff. A master Mobility Controller can manage local Mobility Controllers, while AirWave® provides enterprise-wide clarity and control through real-time monitoring, historical reporting and troubleshooting.

Choose Your Operating Mode

Aruba AP offers a choice of operating modes to meet your unique management and deployment requirements.
- Controller-managed mode. When managed by Aruba Mobility Controllers, Aruba APs offer centralized configuration, data encryption, policy enforcement and network services, as well as distributed and centralized traffic forwarding.
- Aruba Instant™ mode. In Aruba Instant mode, a single AP automatically distributes the network configuration to other Instant APs in the WLAN. Simply power-up one Instant AP, configure it over the air, and plug in the other APs – the entire process takes about five minutes. For large installations across multiple sites, the Aruba Activate service significantly reduces deployment time by automating device provisioning, firmware upgrades, and inventory management. With Aruba Activate, Instant APs are factory-shipped to any site and configure themselves when powered up. If WLAN and network requirements change, a built-in migration path allows Instant APs to become part of a WLAN that is centrally managed by a Mobility Controller.

Best-in-class RF Management

All Aruba APs include Adaptive Radio Management™ technology, which is essential to creating the most reliable, high-performance WLANs. ARM™ manages the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz radio bands to optimize Wi-Fi client performance and ensures that APs stay clear of RF interference. Aruba AP’s can be configured to provide part-time or dedicated air monitoring for spectrum analysis and wireless intrusion protection, VPN tunnels to extend remote locations to corporate resources, and wireless mesh connections where Ethernet drops are not available.

Wi-fi Client Optimization

To eliminate sticky client behavior, every Aruba AP comes with ClientMatch™ technology, which continuously gathers session performance metrics and utilizes this data to steer mobile devices to the best AP and radio on the WLAN, even while users roam.

Aruba multifunctional and affordable range of wireless access points (APs); deliver enterprise-grade Wi-Fi from low-density to High density client environments in offices, hospitals, schools, retail stores, campuses and large enterprise deployments. Aruba high-performance 802.11n APs deliver wireless data rates range from 150Mbps, 300Mbps and 450 Mbps per radio and ensure peak performance by utilizing channel bonding, block acknowledgement and MIMO radios. Advanced antenna technology also increases RF signal range and reliability. Aruba APs features Single or Multiple dual-band 2.4-GHz or 5-GHz radio with MIMO and integrated or external (optional) Omni-Directional antennas.
